Rambla Indalecio

Okay, so not a Leone location in itself you do have to pass through several locations used in Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More to reach this place and its well worth the walk. Rather than taking the usual Tabernas turning from the A-92 Almeria - Granada Autovia take the Rioja turnoff and drive Northwards along the service road that runs parallel to the Autovia. Park up at Rambla Indalecio where the old bridge spanning the rambla can be found. Walk down into the rambla then head East, the rambla leads to a track that snakes up into the mountains, after about 20 minutes this tumbled down old building can be found. Used in the movies Tepepa and The Hunting Party it stands overlooking the Almeria landscape. Remember to take plenty of water as there's no shade from the Spanish sun.

  1. 20 minutes? When I visited here in 2003 with Don Bruce and Marla Johnson we used motorbikes until the rambla ran out and walked the rest of the way. It still took a good hour. Anyway it is worthy the hike and you also pass "Telegraph Hill" which was used in "For a Few Dollars More" when El Indio's gang shoot the telegraph lines after robbing the bank in El Paso.
